- Drafting, reviewing and advising on all types of employment agreements and policies (including for State Sector employers).
- Providing legal opinions on a wide range of employment law matters.
- Attending disciplinary meetings for employers and employees.
- Negotiating exits and drafting settlement agreements.
- Due diligence reporting in relation to the sale or purchase of a business.
- Acting as counsel and junior counsel in numerous Employment Relations Authority and Employment Court hearings on a variety of issues, including:
- Raising and defending personal grievance actions (including multiple interim reinstatement applications).
- Seeking declarations on the lawfulness of proposed strike action.
- Enforcement of restraint of trade provisions.
- Interpretation of conflicting provisions of a collective agreement.
- Preliminary jurisdiction hearings on the 90 day limitation period and employee/independent contractor status.
- Regularly representing clients at mediations to seek early resolution of employment disputes.
- Assisting with corporate immigration applications across a range of categories (in particular, work visas for senior employees) and providing general immigration advice.
