  • Drafting, reviewing and advising on all types of employment agreements and policies (including for State Sector employers).
  • Providing legal opinions on a wide range of employment law matters.
  • Attending disciplinary meetings for employers and employees.
  • Negotiating exits and drafting settlement agreements.
  • Due diligence reporting in relation to the sale or purchase of a business.
  • Acting as counsel and junior counsel in numerous Employment Relations Authority and Employment Court hearings on a variety of issues, including:
    • Raising and defending personal grievance actions (including multiple interim reinstatement applications).
    • Seeking declarations on the lawfulness of proposed strike action.
    • Enforcement of restraint of trade provisions.
    • Interpretation of conflicting provisions of a collective agreement.
    • Preliminary jurisdiction hearings on the 90 day limitation period and employee/independent contractor status.
  • Regularly representing clients at mediations to seek early resolution of employment disputes.
  • Assisting with corporate immigration applications across a range of categories (in particular, work visas for senior employees) and providing general immigration advice.
